We are living in tense times but this is also a very important time in the history of humanity and we need spiritual discernment to understand everything that is happening in the world!
There are many lies and fake news spreading around the world and we need more than ever to be connected with the Holy Spirit and to hear from God.
People are disappointed because they cannot travel, there is no toilet paper in some places, hand sanitisers, and people are panic buying and stocking up on food.
In addition to coronavirus, millions of grasshoppers are destroying many nations and have reached more than 10 countries: Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Sudan, Yemen, Oman, Pakistan, India, Iran, and now they are approaching China.
What does the Bible say about this? What does God want to say to us through all this?
This is a time of fear, sickness, pain, but also I believe that we are living in a “special” time and what God is showing us is that we are not in control of things!
1- Man is not in control of his life or his plans!
Be still and know that I’m God and you are not in control of this earth.
““Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.”
14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.””
James 4:13-15
Because of a tiny virus the world has been transformed, people cannot travel, you cannot go where you want, people are not making money, they are losing money and don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow.
God says that your life is like fog, it is like vapour, that will pass quickly and you need to make your decisions based on God’s will and not your will.
God says: you have to live to do my will and not yours. I am the creator, I created you, I formed you and you need to live for me, says the Lord!
Many people are saying: I have no time for God, I have to earn money, I will invest in my life, I have to invest in my future. And God says: your life is like fog and it soon will vanish.
One day every one of us will face death ! We only have one go at this life!
The bible says no one will return, but after death you will be judged according to how you lived here!
“For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.” 2 Corinthians 5:10
How will the moment you are standing before Jesus be?
I know many people don’t like to think about it! One day you are going to face Jesus Christ
I’m excited for that day, I live each day of my life waiting for this day! Everything I do, I do it thinking of that day! And the time to be prepared for that day is Now!
Everything you do in this Earth – is going to bring you Reward or Regret
What will the day you see Jesus bring you? Reward or Regret ? The bible says : There will be a reward for those who were faithful. Many will regret how they spent their time!
Many are wasting their time, they don’t have time for prayer, reading the bible, to go to the meetings, to visit a person in need, to talk about Jesus, to have time with God.
God says: I bought you, I paid a high price for you to serve me! Your life will soon pass, use your life for my Glory and my will!
2- Suffering is part of human life.
Nobody likes to suffer, not even me , but suffering is part of life.
Suffering is an inheritance of our ancestor Adam. When sin entered the world through Adam and Eve, God ordained that mankind would experience corruption and futility, and that all living things would die.
Christians, by being saved through the gospel of God’s grace, do not escape this physical corruption, disasters, futility, and death.
The Bible shows us that by Faith many people will suffer. Christian life is not just a life where everything will work out! There are also valleys that we will all pass through, even though we love God!
Hebrews 11: 35-37 (people of faith that suffered)
In this life of Faith, we also have to believe and trust God even in suffering!
Many people think because God is good, we cannot suffer!
Why do believers get sick? Why do believers get cancer? Why do believers get involved in accidents? Why do people we love die?
Many people are resentful and bitter with God thinking that God has to get rid all suffering!
Faith is believing and trusting God – no matter the circumstances!
God is God, He is Supreme, Superior and He is our Creator and you are just a little creature that needs to believe and trust Him. We have no right to question the one who made us, but we need to trust him!
No matter how much you love Him, how much you serve Him: You will still go through struggles and suffering!
People of great faith went through struggles – by faith!
Be prepared, as adversity can knock at your door!
“Even though I walk through The Valley of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalms 23:4
Do you believe what the Bible teaches?
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28
All things! If you love God and serve Him, all things work together for your good
3- Trust in the Lord and fear not!
1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in tribulations.
2 Therefore, we will not fear, even if the land is disturbed and the mountains are shaken in the midst of the seas;
10 Be still and know that I am God; I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted on earth. ”
Psalm 46: 1-2, 10
Where is your trust? Where does your help come from?
Our help comes from the Lord and not from men, from the government, it doesn’t come from this world, but from heaven!
Is He your refuge and strength? If so, why do you have fear?
There are many Christians in church , serving the Lord but full of fear!
They say they have faith , they say they trust in the Lord but their hearts are full of fear! Fear of people , fear unemployment , sickness , virus , lack of money , fear persecution, etc
My brother and my sister: you need to be free from fear! You need to trust in the Lord!
You need to live by Faith not by Fear!
Please stop fearing and trust in the Lord because your actions show to everybody you have fear.
God says : Be still and know I’m God !
5 “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.”
Psalms 91:5-6, 14
4 – pestilences and plagues are signs of the end times
7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will all this things happen? What sign will show us that these things are about to take place?”
10 Then he added, “Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
11 There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there will be terrifying things and great miraculous signs from heaven.”
Luke 21:7, 10-11
The Disciples asked Jesus about the end of times, when will it be and what signs will we see?
I’m not going to tell you when it will happen but the signs will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands!
5- God is calling the world to repentance
All natural disasters: earthquakes, floods, famine, tsunamis, diseases, plagues are God’s thunderclap and God’s alarms of divine mercy in the midst of judgment calling people everywhere to repent, abandon their sins and align their lives to divine purpose.

1 “Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
Luke 13:1-3
Here Jesus speaks about 2 groups of people who had tragic deaths.
Some Galileans were beheaded by Herod and another group of 18 people, a tower fell on them and all died.
The people wanted to know what Jesus thought about this cruelty and fatality and this is what Jesus said
Verses 4 and 5
4 And as for those eighteen on whom the tower of Siloam collapsed and killed them, do you think they were more guilty than all the other inhabitants of Jerusalem?
5 I tell you they were not; but if you do not repent, all of you will also perish.
Luke 13: 4-5
Now this is Jesus’ message to the world at this time when the coronavirus is spreading and killing people is: repent! If you do not repent you will also perish.
The message to every single human being, me, you and every authority, every ruler and everybody who is receiving this thunderclap message of God is: repent and seek God’s mercy !
God is calling the world to repentance.
6- If we repent God will heal our land
8 “Get close to God, and he will come to you. Clean your hands, sinners! And you who are indecisive, purify your heart. 9 Acknowledge your misery, lament and cry. May your laughter turn to weeping, and may your joy turn to sadness. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. ”
James 4: 8-10
Get closer to God and he will come close to us!
Many are concerned about the virus, washing their hands, using hand sanitiser, but God is saying : Your hands are dirty with sin! Clean your hands and purify your heart!
This is a time to mourn and weep for our sins! Time to abandon and stop sinning!
Many Christians are in churches, they are listening to the word of God but continue in their life of sin, lies, immorality, they are not married, but they are living a married life.
Clean your hands and hearts!
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
There is condition for God to move : IF MY PEOPLE: Humble , Pray , Seek my face and turn from their wicked ways , then I will hear from Heaven !
Repentance is the key to eternal life. Without repentance towards God, there is no salvation.
Repentance is the key to the kingdom of God. When Jesus began his ministry, he declared that the kingdom of God was at hand and the need for repentance.
Jesus said “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.””
Mark 1:15
Repentance is believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ regarding sin, forgiveness, and holiness.
NO REPENTANCE, NO SALVATION, NO ETERNAL LIFE!
