Supernatural Faith [Part 1]

When was the last time you had a real encounter with God? I’m not just talking about coming to church… I’m talking about a moment when you felt God’s presence so genuinely that it marked your life.

When was the last time God used you to supernaturally touch someone’s life? Perhaps through a prayer… perhaps a word God placed in your heart… perhaps someone was healed… or someone was transformed.

Why were miracles “normal” in the early church, yet seem so “rare” in many churches today?

The early church didn’t grow solely because of good messages. It grew because the supernatural was a part of the church’s life. Miracles, healings, deliverances, signs… they were a natural occurrence among them. Because the Gospel isn’t just good news in words. The Gospel is the demonstrated power of God.

The revivalist John G. Lake said something very profound:

“The church that does not live in the supernatural soon settles for a godless religion.” John G. Lake

The Christianity we see in the book of Acts was a supernatural Christianity. And the same Holy Spirit who was with them… is with us today. And I believe God wants to bring us back to that reality.

God stirred me, and the Holy Spirit placed it on my heart to preach about supernatural faith.

And I believe that today something can change within you. Your spiritual life can enter a new level today. Why?

Because the Bible says: “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message” Romans 10:17 (NIV)

As you hear the Word of God today:

  • your heart will be filled with faith
  • your spiritual vision will open
  • you will start praying for things you once thought impossible
  • and you will begin to experience the supernatural of God.

Let’s read the verse that will be the foundation for this series.

The Righteous Will Live by Faith! Habakkuk 2:4, Hebrews 10:38, Romans 1:17

The Bible doesn’t just say you will have faith; it says you must LIVE by faith!

Your faith must be strong enough to affect all areas of your life! I believe your faith impacts your spiritual, emotional, relational, financial, professional, and family life.

You must use your faith in all areas of your life, for the righteous will live by faith!

How many of you believe that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour? This is faith for salvation!

Most Christians only have faith for salvation! They believe in Jesus, are saved, and will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, because salvation is solely through faith.

Many Christians are saved by faith, by believing in Jesus, yet they no longer use that faith in their daily lives.

Beloved, did you know that our faith is the most powerful force in the world? Through our faith, we can change our lives, our destiny, our family, our church, and even our town.

By faith, the Bible says: “They will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Mark 16:18 (NIV)

Perhaps you have already heard me speak of some miracles God performed through my life, but the first miracle that happened in my life occurred when I was only 6 months into my faith journey. My mother was ill; she couldn’t breathe. I laid my hands on her, prayed for 30 seconds, and when I finished the prayer, she was completely healed and breathing normally! As a result of this miracle, my mother had an encounter with God and was converted.

Some people believe in Jesus for their salvation but don’t use faith for anything else.

Let’s read 2 Corinthians 4:18.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)

Today, we are going to reflect on the power of Seeing and Hearing. Seeing and Hearing are capacities given by God, yet we can use them in a way that destroys our faith.

Apostle Paul makes it clear that he didn’t pay much attention to what he saw! For he said: Fix your eyes on what you DON’T SEE, for the things you see are temporary, but those you don’t see are eternal!

Be careful with what you see! Because what you see is NOT the truth. Sometimes we look at a problem, at a medical diagnosis that says there’s no solution for your life; this is what it appears to be, but it’s not what God wants to do.

God has things for you that are beyond your vision!

Apostle Paul said: I don’t give attention to the things I see, but to those I don’t see. What is he saying?

It is the spiritual world that commands the physical world.

The spiritual world commands the physical world, and you need to believe and pay attention to what you don’t see, and this is through faith.

“For we live by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)

Apostle Paul said: Walk by what you believe, walk by faith and not by what you see!

What you see can destroy your faith!

What God has for you cannot be seen with human eyes. Be careful with what you are seeing!

Satan tempted Jesus using sight: ‘Look at all the kingdoms of the world, and if you worship me, I will give them to you!’ Satan used sight to tempt Jesus. Physical sight is an enemy of faith!

Because faith is based on what you do not see!

What is faith according to Hebrews 11:1?

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

Faith is the certainty of things you don’t perceive with your natural eyes, but you are certain and you expect them! We need to see beyond what our eyes perceive.

What you see can destroy your faith. But what makes your faith grow?

“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message” Romans 10:17 (NIV)

Today we are talking about “The Power of Seeing and Hearing”. Faith doesn’t come by seeing, but by hearing.

What you perceive will often contend with your faith.

But the Bible is teaching us that we must stop seeing in order to hear what God speaks!

Because it is the Word of God that will produce faith in your life.

When you hear the Word of God, something immediately begins to happen within you. How many times have I come to church, started worshipping, heard the Word, and been healed, delivered? Other times I was tired and was strengthened.

When you expose yourself to the Word of God, when you hear the Word of God, miracles happen.

Therefore, be faithful in being in God’s house and hearing the Word of God, for many areas in your life will be overcome. Do you believe this!

Say with me: I am part of the people of Faith, not the people of fear!

We are a people of faith, and we will see the supernatural power of God.

There are some misconceptions about miracles, and I want to teach you something very important:

1 – A miracle is not for those who deserve it; it’s for those who believe!

A miracle is not for those who deserve it; if it were, no one would receive a miracle.

2 – A miracle is not for those who need it! A miracle is for those who believe!

A large part of the miracles that happened through my prayer wasn’t inside the church, but with people outside the church—people who believed and received because they believed in the miracle.

Example: Jesus came for the people of Israel, the Jews. However, one day, a Syrophoenician woman approached Jesus. She was not from the people of Israel, and she cried out to Jesus, “Jesus, heal my daughter.” Let’s see what Jesus said to her.

““First let the children eat all they want,” he told her, “for it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” “Lord,” she replied, “even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” Then he told her, “For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter.” Mark 7:27-29 (NIV)

She said to Jesus: I know you came for the people of Israel, the bread belongs to them, but I want even a crumb!

Jesus said: Because of your faith, your daughter is already healed! You may go home.

This woman received the miracle not because of Jesus’s faith. She received it because she believed; she pursued it.

A miracle is not for those who deserve it; it’s for those who believe!

So you need to remove from your life what is hindering your faith. If you keep listening to what the world says, if you keep listening to what people say, and if you keep looking at circumstances, you will not have a miracle.

A miracle is NOT for those who need it, a miracle is NOT for those who deserve it, a miracle is for those who BELIEVE!

Once, a man whose son had problems came to Jesus and asked:

“…But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” “’If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Mark 9:22-23 (NIV)

He came to Jesus and said: I have a need, can you perform a miracle?

Jesus answered his question with another question: You ask me if I can? Everything is possible for one who believes!

Do you believe Jesus’s words? Everything is possible for one who believes!

Many come before God as if they don’t deserve it; some say: I won’t ask for anything, if God wants to, He’ll give it to me! This is unbelief!

Jesus said: ““Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)

It is not your need that will generate the miracle; it is your asking, your seeking, and your FAITH!

God takes pleasure in giving us gifts. God loves you, and He wants to give you gifts! God loves you very much!

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32 (NIV)

All things.

God hears the one who has faith; God wants to act, but He needs you to believe! Because without faith it is impossible to please God.

Remember that a miracle is NOT for those who deserve it, a miracle is NOT for those who need it, a miracle is NOT for those who have a necessity!

A miracle is for those who BELIEVE!

Today, God sent me here to awaken your faith. Stop paying attention to the things you are seeing, but pay attention to the things you are not seeing.

It’s time for believers to be more believing! Our faith is supernatural! It is not human; faith is not rational; it is spiritual and supernatural.

Just believe, and you will see the glory of God!

Believe, and God will send angels to bring revelation and answers for your life. Believe, and God will send someone to pray for your illness. Believe, and God will send people to help you and bring the answers you need. Believe, and God will open doors of employment.

Believe, for everything is possible for one who believes! Wake up, you who are sleeping, and be a man, a woman, be a young person of faith, be a believer, and you will see the supernatural of God.

If you believe this word, say: I believe!

God bless you, and see you next week for the next message in the Supernatural Faith series.
