The Miracle of Inner Transformation: The Harvest of Our Fast

What a glorious moment we are experiencing! Today marks the final day of our annual 21-days fast! These have been three weeks of consecration, self-denial, and intense seeking of God’s face. And I want to prophesy over your life, your home, your family, your health, and your finances: all those who have fasted will see the results of your commitment!

I declare that we shall see:

    • Physical healing upon you and your family!
    • Finances being organised and prospering!
    • Doors of new employment opening supernaturally!
    • Chains being broken, spiritual bondages being undone!
    • And that which you have been praying and asking God for, coming to you in the year 2026!
  • And above all:, a life of profound consecration, holiness, and purity that brings joy to the very heart of God!

But I want to say something with great affection and sincerity, something the Holy Spirit has been burning in my heart:

The greatest miracle of this fast is NOT what God does outwardly of us. The greatest miracle is what God does within us.

That’s why today’s message is: The miracle of Inner transformation! This is the harvest of the Fasting.

Because fasting does not change God. God does not need to be convinced. God does not need to be pressured. He is sovereign, immutable, and perfect. We are the problem. We are the clay in the Potters hands, and fasting is a powerful tool that moulds us.

Fasting breaks us. Fasting humbles us. Fasting confronts us with our own weakness and carnality. Fasting transforms us, from glory to glory, into the image of Christ.

And it is because of our humiliation, our brokenness, and our transformation that God releases miracles. It gets us ready to receive what He’d planned to give us all along.

The Power of Physical Obedience that Unleashes the Spiritual

God’s Word is replete with principles that show us this profound connection between what we do physically and what happens spiritually.

In the book of Exodus, chapter 17. The people of Israel, recently liberated from slavery in Egypt by a mighty miracle, were on their arduous journey through the desert towards the Promised Land. And it was on this path that they encountered a cruel and treacherous enemy: the Amalekites.

The Amalekites did not attack them head-on, but cowardly ambushed the Israelites from the rear, targeting the weakest, the weary, the women, and the children who lagged behind. It was an attack to destroy God’s people at their most vulnerable point, and it put Israel in desperate need of a divine intervention to win this battle.

It is in this scenario that we read what happened to Moses, the leader chosen by God, and the fundamental role of his physical obedience for the spiritual victory of the people:

Exodus 17:11 (NIV): “As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.”

What a powerful story! This biblical account is crucial because it clearly demonstrates the fact that “Our Physical Obedience unleashes God’s Spiritual Power in our Favour!”

God was basically saying to Moses: “Moses, how you physically position yourself will determine the outcome of this battle. Your raised arms are a sacrifice, a declaration of dependence and obedience, and this will move the heavens on your behalf.”

This passage shows a direct link between what you do PHYSICALLY and what happens SPIRITUALLY. My brothers and sisters: What we do with OUR PHYSICAL BODY will make all the difference in the SPIRITUAL REALM!

The angels were unleashed to join in the battle when Moses physically held up his hands! But, when Moses began to lower his hand – because he was tired, exhausted, humanly weak – the enemy began to win the battle.

The same happens with us! Doors that do not open, the enemy ruining our family, blessings that do not come, being spiritually stuck, all these things happen because we get weary. We are faltering in prayer, in reading the Word, in consecrating ourselves daily, in fasting… This is how the enemy begins to gain ground in our lives!

The Bible invites us to offer our bodies. Romans 12:1 tells us:

Romans 12:1 (NIV): “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of Gods mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship.”

Offering our body means offering up our energy, our time, our talents, our health, our finances – all that we are and have. It is total surrender, a living sacrifice, an expression of our worship and submission to the Lord. When we do this, God moves on our behalf!

The work of the cross was entirely sufficient for our salvation.

Salvation is by grace, through faith! But the rewards, the eternal compensations, the deeper intimacy, and the supernatural move of God in our lives here on earth, come through our efforts and our surrender, by our obedience!

Fasting: The Path to the Supernatural!

Beloved, fasting is one of the most powerful tools Jesus left us to access the supernatural. Remember the story we find in Matthew 17.

The disciples tried to cast out the legion of demons from a child. They had prayed all afternoon, with all their efforts, but the demons would not leave. How frustrating that must have been for them!

When Jesus came down from the mountain, He came with unquestionable authority and power. He rebuked the demons, and they left the child in an instant! What a difference!

Now, the crucial question: What was Jesus doing on the mountain? The Bible reveals that Jesus was fasting and praying! When He descended (without food), the demons obeyed Him without hesitation. His disciples, on the other hand, came with their bellies full of “fish and bread”, offered the same prayer as Jesus, but with different results.

Later, “the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, ‘Why couldnt we drive it out?'” Matthew 17:19 And Jesusanswer, recorded in Matthew 17:21, is the key to our understanding:

Matthew 17:21 (NIV): “But this kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting.”

(In some versions, this verse is included, in others it is a footnote, but the principle is consistently taught in Scripture and Christian tradition.)

Therefore, my dear ones: Fasting is the path to the supernatural!

Jesus clearly stated: There are circumstances that cannot be resolved by prayer alone – they require a greater force, a larger spiritual “pipe line”!

Think of your spiritual life as a plumbing system. Initially, it might be clean and flow freely. However, over time, sin, worries, a lack of discipline, neglect, and the distractions of the world can clog up, rust, and narrow your spiritual ‘pipe’

Suddenly, the water – the anointing, the power, the voice of God – struggles to flow as it once did. Our prayers seem to lack power, and our connection with the supernatural becomes difficult.”

“Fasting widens this pipe line and unclogs it, allowing a greater flow of God’s power to pass through us.”

This is the great secret that most Christians ignore and do not practise: the powerful combination of prayer and fasting!

If you know that according to God’s Word you’re supposed to have something, if you know it is God’s will, if you know it is a promise from God for your life, then this wall preventing you can be broken through fasting!

As Pastor Derek Prince, a great teacher of the Word, said:

“Fasting brings breakthrough.” Derek Prince

And John Piper reminds us of the depth of fasting:

“Christian fasting, at its root, is the hunger of a homesick soul for God.” John Piper

It is this hunger, this thirst for Him, that propels us into the supernatural!

Fasting is the most powerful force in prayer, because it widens your “direct connection”, cleanses all the dirt, all the impurity, all the clutter that obstructs your communion with God, and opens the floodgates of heaven! Yes, beloved, fasting is the path to God’s supernatural.

Breaking Habits and Opening Floodgates

Fasting destroys bad habits, addictions, and spiritual bondage. And we are not just talking about obvious addictions like cigarettes, pornography, drugs, and alcohol. Subtle, yet equally destructive habits, are stealing our spiritual lives!

How many of us say we don’t have time to pray, but spend hours on TV, the internet, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and watching endless series on Netflix? You say you don’t have time to pray, but these habits are stealing your time, draining your spiritual energy, and, yes, destroying your life with God! Fasting helps us to break these chains, to reorient our priorities, and to focus on what is eternal.

As evangelist Billy Graham said: “The Bible is filled with accounts of individuals who fasted in times of crisis, confession, or consecration.” It is an act of consecration that takes us to a new level!

The Call to Continuous Discipline: Whenever You Pray, Give, and Fast

My beloved, Jesus in Matthew chapter 6 taught us fundamental principles for the Christian life. He did not say ‘IF’ you pray, ‘IF’ you give, or ‘IF’ you fast.

He said ‘WHEN’ you pray, ‘WHEN’ you give your offering, and ‘WHEN’ you fast! He presupposed that these would be constant practices in the lives of His followers!

Think with me: Do you only pray once a year? Of course not! Do you only offer to the Lord once a year? I hope not! In the same way, beloved, fasting is not a practice to be consigned to an annual 21-day event!

Fasting needs to become a lifestyle, a regular discipline that sustains your walk with Christ.

I want to challenge you today, with love, based on the Word: If you wish to maintain that level of anointing, of spiritual sensitivity, of authority over the enemy, of clarity to listen God’s voice, then you need to fast regularly! I exhort you, my brothers and sisters: Seek to fast at least 1 day a week! Yes, a 24-hour fast – whether from sunset to sunset, or from morning of one day to morning of the next – will make a tremendous difference in your life!

This weekly fast will not only strengthen your spiritual life, cleaning up the “pipe line” and increasing your capacity to receive from above, but it will also bring proven benefits for your physical body!

As we saw last week, fasting has properties that promote health and longevity. And why do we want to live long? To serve God with more vigour, with more time, with more passion! To fulfil the purpose He has given us! It is not a matter of legalism, but of passion and spiritual intelligence! It is an investment in your eternity and in your effectiveness here on earth!

Conclusion: A New Level of Glory

We have come to the end of 21 days of fasting. It is not merely the end of a period, but the beginning of a new season, a call to a new level of discipline and intimacy with God. The external miracle will come, yes! Healing, provision, deliverance – all these will be manifested!

But I reaffirm: The greatest legacy of this period of fasting is the transformation God has worked within you and what He wants to continue working through your discipline.

After Fasting you are more broken, more humbled before God, more confronted with your need for Him. And because of this, you are more capable of receiving the miracles He has for you. Break the habits that bind you, raise your hands in obedience like Moses, and be an unhindered channel for the power of God!

May the fire of the Holy Spirit burn in each one of you, and may this year of 2026 be a year of supernatural harvest, because of your sacrifice, your humbleness, and your transformation will open the floodgates of heaven! And may your continuous discipline keep these floodgates open over your life, your family, and your church!

May God bless you abundantly!
