Today, I want to share a word that God has put in my heart.
How is your Christian life? How is your spiritual life? How is your relationship with God?
The worst thing in a Christian’s life is when they become a Christian that live a “natural” Christian life, without experiencing the supernatural!
That is: They do not see the action of the power of God, they no longer hear the voice of God and eventually become a lukewarm Christian!
This is the worst thing that can happen in the life of a true Christian who was born again!
Today I want to challenge you to get out of this spiritual lukewarmness.
Get out of this “natural” life, because God has a “supernatural” life for you!
He wants to fill you with the Holy Spirit, He wants to talk to you, He wants to ignite your heart and make you a son, a daughter who will walk in the power of the Holy Spirit!
How many want to be set on fire by the power of the Holy Spirit? How many want to be used by God and live a supernatural life?
Today’s Message: Wait for the supernatural!
How many of you are expecting a promise from God? God has many promises for us, the Bible is full of promises in all areas of our life: our health, family life, married life, professional life, spiritual life, ministerial life, your calling and even for your future in eternity.
God wants you to experience the “supernatural” in every area of your life!
Let’s read an example in the area of physical health:
“If you worship me, the Lord your God, I will bless you with food and water and take away all your sicknesses.” Exodus 23:25
“My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.” Proverbs 4:20-22 NLT
The Bible is full of promises about physical healing, but these biblical promises are not to be taken for granted. Many people say: If God promised it, God will do it!
In the Bible, people who received miracles and experienced the supernatural they had expectation, they believed and went after their miracle.
I visited several churches in Brazil and in all of them God healed people, but in one specific church, the level of healing was much higher, half of the church was healed or received some kind of miracle.
There was a man who could not go to the service because he had had a stroke and the entire right part of his body had been paralysed; he had been in bed for a long time and couldn’t walk.
So I went to his house to pray for him. When he saw me, he started crying and said: Pastor I had been waiting for you and I believe I will be healed today.
I put my hands on him and said: Body, be restored and be healed. In the name of Jesus, get up and walk! I took him by his hands, lifted him out of bed and he started walking.
I left that city so happy to see that so many people had been healed. But I started asking God: Why is it that such few people were healed in other cities while in this specific city so many people received miracles?
God spoke to my heart: Do you remember that even Jesus couldn’t perform miracles in his homeland?
“Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honour except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.” He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.” Mark 6:4-5 NIV
If we want to see the supernatural of God, we need to have expectation in our hearts.
The “normal” Christian life should be a supernatural life!
When we read the word of God (the Bible) we see people who have lived a supernatural life.
A biblical Christian life is a life that lives in the supernatural.
Since my conversion I have been praying and asking God: don’t let me be a lukewarm Christian!
I don’t know about you, but if I don’t see miracles happening, if I don’t see God operating in my life, if I don’t see people being healed, people being freed and people saved through my life, it’s because something is wrong with me and I need to seek more of God.
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:13 NIV
“For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power.”
1 Corinthians 4:20 NLT
The Kingdom of God is not just words, but the manifestation of His power!
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
1 Corinthians 1:18 NIV
The message of the Cross is a message of transformation, it is a message of liberation, it’s a message that produces the supernatural!
We need to live a life full of expectations, we need to believe and wait for the supernatural, because God’s promises are for those who believe.
We need to use our Faith! We need to believe in greater things, we need to have expectations and wait for the supernatural.
Jesus never said: Son, go in peace because my faith has healed you, or my faith has set you free!
“He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”Mark 5:34 NIV
Jesus had all the faith, all the gifts, but only those who honoured Him, who approached Him with expectation and faith got to experience the supernatural.
Let’s read Luke 13:10-13
“Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. 12 But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” 13 And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.”
Luke 13:10-13 NKJV
In this text we see a woman whose name we don’t even know, we don’t know who her father was, we don’t know about her education, we just know that she was distressed, sick and hurt and decided to believe in Jesus’ power.
She had been sick for 18 years but decided to go after a miracle! She was sick but didn’t stay locked up in her house!
What you believe does make a difference!
Suppose this woman had thought not go to church that day…
Suppose she said: I’m too tired to go! I don’t feel well enough to walk over.
I want to say this to you: You’re in the right place, at right time, listening to the Word of God and something is about to happen, just believe in it!
“Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” John 11:40 NIV
Today most people determine their faith by the results they see. If you have what some call “evidence of faith” – If you never have any trouble with your children, if you never gets sick, if you got plenty of money, if everything is well, then they say you have great faith.
And that may be good! But to me: It takes even more faith to praise God when you don’t have any of these things!
That woman, for her to still go to church after 18 years of illness she must have had a very strong faith.
18 years! This is a long time; and she still dealt with the problem!
Maybe you have a problem you have been struggling with for a long time.
Is there anyone in this room or listening me online that have been dealing with a problem for a long time?
Some of you may be dealing with health problems, others are dealing with work problems, family problems, maybe your children are away from the Lord, maybe you’ve been fighting for your marriage for long time – keep the Faith!
18 years of suffering and she still kept the faith.
I want to say this to you who are listing to me, I don’t care how much time you have been waiting for something but – Keep the Faith!
I don’t care how bad it looks – Keep the Faith!
I don’t care what the circumstances is – Keep the Faith!
God has not forgotten you! Keep the Faith!
How to keep the faith? Faith comes by hearing the Word of God!
What does the Word do? The Word comes to your Spirit and the only Word that you can benefit from, is the Word you gets into your Spirit.
The Bible says: “The engrafted word is able to save your souls.” James 1:21
The implanted Word is able to save your Soul. The engraved Word is the Word that sticks to your spirit , like grafted skin. When something is grafted it becomes one with your tissues.
When a Word that has been preached becomes one with you, you cease to just quote it but you let it become part of your thoughts.
The engraved Word is able to save your mind, your memories , your emotions, your attitudes.
You need to allow the Word to change and transform your mind.
The engrafted Word is able to influence your mind; the Word alone is able to save your mind!
The engrafted Word of God will give you new memories, the engrafted Word of God will heal things in you that you didn’t even think could be healed.
The engrafted Word of God will get to your Spirit and alter your mind and thoughts!
The engrafted Word of God will give you new desires derived from the Holy Spirit.
Jesus was standing up to preach and He saw a woman!
You know God can see things that nobody else can see. Everybody else may think you’re okay but God sees what’s really going on in your life !
HE SEES YOU !
God sees how people are treating you, God sees your suffering!
The Omniscient God, the all-seeing, all-knowing, infinite, wise God, He not only saw her but he called out to her!
God is ready to call out to some of you who have been standing in the back of the crowd. He will call you up front so you can be used by him.
He is going to call you out of your comfort zone.
You’re just looking to yourself, your job, your career, your family but God sees the full picture and is getting ready to call you out of your comfort zone.
He is going to ask you to do something that you didn’t even think you could do.
Maybe you’re saying: but I’m sick, I’m crippled! I’m not able to!
You have to come out anyway!
When that woman (who came in so much pain) and got to Jesus, He didn’t say : woman you cannot be freed; woman when you get to heaven then you will be free.
He said: “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” Luke 13:12
You are free from your disability!
He said, you are free, but nothing in her situation confirmed His Word. She didn’t look free, she didn’t feel free!
But He gave her a word; Maybe all you have today is a Word… Keep believing!
And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.” Luke 13:13
He laid hands on her and immediately she straightened herself up!
God will touch your life and you will give God the praise !
I want to challenge you to continue believing, seeking His presence because it is His presence that will produce the supernatural.
Cry out and be filled with the Holy Spirit, because He wants to ignite your heart and lead you to live in the supernatural.
